Gregg Dreise is an award-winning author, illustrator, musician and teacher. He is a descendant of the Kamilaroi tribe, from south-west Queensland and north-west New South Wales. Born and raised in St George, Queensland, he moved to Noosa during high school. The youngest of eight in a family that loved sport, music and poetry, his mum always inspired him to write.
Gregg is the author and illustrator of three children’s picture books, Silly Birds, Kookoo Kookaburra and Mad Magpie – a successful series of morality tales. He began writing poems, so he could create song lyrics for his bands. As a teacher I love creating stories to help students with completing their tasks.
Gregg played in Bands from high school -Sonic Pigs and Sugar Spun Sister - and throughout university in the band Cherry Pop Tarts renamed The Pop Tarts and Pottersfield. He plays guitar, bass, didgeridoo, drums and sings.
As an artist, Gregg creates canvas works and murals and paints boomerangs and didgeridoos.
