Tah Riq Amawi

The inspirational Tah Riq was born in Amman, Jordan and now lives in Bali where he runs his SuperHero Factory - a fun indoor gym (parkour) concept for learning how to overcome mental obstacles. Tah Riq started writing poetry at eight, won a national writing competition, mastered the flamenco guitar as a teenager and won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London.  He is a TEDx speaker and in 2014 won the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival’s Poetry Slam championship.

Last year he launched his first children’s book, the beautiful The Boy Who Was Scared of Dragons - a modern timeless tale for all ages. This wonderfully and fully illustrated transformational and metaphorical story about a boy facing his dragons is really for all ages and has been lovingly created, quietly in the background of Tah Riq's busy life. The story is written exclusively in rhyming couplets and is illustrated by the talented Adam Willis. The story witnesses the journey of a boy from a small child to manhood and stepping into his power, letting go of his fears and seeing things for what they truly are. (www.youtube.com/watch?v=ir3m6y7JXF0)
